Kochel Bridge Installation

Two undersized culverts installed a number of years ago washed out at this crossing on Knight Creek. The wash out continued to erode the stream banks resulting in the widening of the stream and the addition of fine materials to the creek. Beaver activity, in conjunction with the old culverts may have impeded fish passage to upstream habitat.

The new bridge structure will allow the stream to flow naturally at all times of year. The restoration work rebuilt the stream banks and channel at the crossing and will help to reduce erosion and maintain channel structure.
