Beaver Dams Help to Create Wetland CorridorsDocument:

With drought conditions existing throughout the Nechako Valley, NEWSS is exploring funding opportunities to create wetland corridors to help retain water and create natural fire breaks.  Using Beaver Dam Analogs to retain and slow the flow of water NEWSS hopes to lessen the impact of drought conditions on the landscape.  Wetland corridors will, over time, impact wildfire spread while providing water to the agriculture sector, which all works towards the goal of salmon recovery in our watershed.
