Projects 2020

Background

The Chilako River flows north into the Nechako River, approximately 30km west of Prince George. It is also called Mud River, due to its murky water.

About Chilako Restoration Initiative

In 2020 NEWSS work with crews from Lheidli T'enneh to build and create erosion control structures using wood and tree growth.  Willows were planted to help maintain bank structure and prevent further erosion.
