Fraser Basin Council Ninth Annual BC Interior Stewardship Workshop was held in Vanderhoof in May 2013. NEWSS lead a field trip to Murray Creek to promote awareness about the project and the overall picture of NEWSS.

Murray Creek FBC Fieldtrip
A comprehensive culvert assessment was done at all road crossings on Murray Creek in 2011. The scope of this project encompasses all known culverts within the agricultural area of the Murray Creek watershed, including both public road and private road or crossing culverts. However, due to landowner rights in Canada, only private culverts for which permission has been granted by the landowner were measured. Eight private culverts were measured, however, this leaves an estimated 5-7 culverts on private land in which the landowner could not be reached, or did not grant access to their land.
