Moss Creek is a tributary to the Nechako River. It is a known non-natal stream for chinook and coho salmon rearing, and therefore an important small stream that flows through mainly agricultural lands.
Landowner Land Practices
Moss Creek is a good example of both good and poor land management practices by landowners. In 2021, access to the upper reaches of Moss Creek was restored by a landowner replacing a restrictive culvert with a bridge (see Bridge Installation 2021). In 2023, however, a different landowner made poor land management decisions to clear the riparian area and land right up to the creek. These actions by the landowner resulted in charges being laid against the corporation that owns the land.
